Ive decided to make a second posting on this quite simply as it seems to have caught a lot of peoples attention. Regarding the sex tourist industry in Cebu. Its not an area i know a lot about because quite simply it doesnt interest me, im happily married but i know some of my friends when visiting the Philippines would be wanting to visit such locations. So ill just do a quick right up and see if anyone wants to know more, as although i know little about this i know plenty of people who do and i would prefer people if they are just coming to the Philippines for sex in the sun that they messed around with women that are in that trade rather than creating problems for women that really dont need you arriving and disappearing on a whim.
So where to start.. Firstly if your going to get involved in this trade you need to sort locations near the central part of Cebu city. Eddies Hotel is pretty close to where a lot of the bars are. But anywhere round the rotunda in Cebu and its near enough on your doorstep.
The locations marked in pen are places such as Lonestar, BJs and Vikings which are all near or in Mango Square, there are many more near these locations. Generally they are foreign owned and the way things are operated when entering the girls approach you and are likely to ask for drinks (as they get a percentage of every drink you buy). The mamasan (who is in charge of the girls) is probably your best friend in the bar so if your going to buy someone a drink buy her one and have a chat to your requirements. She is likely to be able to point you in the direction of an ideal girl. Then the term “barfine” is likely to be heard although after a few raids the term may have changed to something else. But basically you will be expected to “pay” for the girl to leave work early which varys depending on the bar you are in. Because sometimes the barfine includes the expense of the girl and sometimes it just pays for the girl to leave work. Your better discussing with the mamasan as to what is what or make a new buddy visiting at the same time. From what ive heard a barfine and girl can cost anything from £15 upwards as you need to negotiate your requirements with the girl.
Now before you jump on a plane and set yourself up for a fortnight of pleasure please be aware of murders im not saying they happen all the time but murders do seem to be on the increase with tourists and the last one i remember involving a prostitute involved a guy taking a shower after sex and the women he slept with which is believed to be in a financial arrangement as his wife was at the construction site of her new home. Let someone into the hotel room who then proceeded to use an ice pick to stab him to death.
STDs are another area you should be cautious of and packing your own condoms. Because there are no statistics on HIV and AIDS doesnt mean it doesnt exist it just means the government is ignoring the fact. Have a happy holiday.
Why go to these place. Why not pick-up some girls … errr women and bring it to your apartment and have them dance the way you want them dance. Cheaper … Safer … and longer.
Safer may not be the right answer as there have been several murders lately where the “working girl” has let guys into the hotel room / property to murder the foreigner. Its not something i get involved in but im well aware of the deaths that have happend recently.

The woman in the photo is my wife April. This is an article of a much more broad site and blog. This article is mainly directed at the men who are going to Cebu as sex tourists. A trade i dont agree with but cant stop. Would prefer them to goto clubs etc. rather than ruining an innocent girls life this is why i wrote the article in the first place. To make them aware there is places they can go instead of making promises to girls and leaving the girls life in ruin when they leave to goto another city or head home never to see the girl again.
I agree with your concern. I am married to a filipina myself. She is very innocent and I love her to death. We are still processing her papers so she is still there. As I have met some foreigners in her small area I have come to the point of asking them their exact intention and then I tell them why I ask. THis is my reply, I tell them I’m a really nice guy and we can drink all night long, but if you are her to find a piece of ass, get them pregnant and then leave, I suggest you leave now before I fuck you up…lol I’m just up front. I tell them to go to the bars in the area. Making promises is one thing, but getting a girl pregnant and leaving her after is not cool. Foreigners can pick up girls for partying in just about any bar, so why play with the innocents of a sweet girl. NOw if the guy is looking for a great relaionship then by all means go to the provences. But if you are just looking for a piece of ass just stay in Manila, or stay in the bars if you’re in Cebu.
If I had the time and money or donations, I would move there and start a movement that would help filipinas that have been impregnated by our military men, then left behind to takecare of a child. This is totally unacceptable and these guys should have to pay every single penny of child support. This is happening all the time and its really sad to hear it.
Guys, if you want to have fun, thats cool, they love us there, but don’t be one of those virgin hunters or a guy that is going places making promises, it will bite you in the ass sooner or later.

Its true.. but the biggest problem I see as a “normal” person in Cebu is that the sex industry is alive and kicking.. it reflects on the majority I hate the fact a lot of the Philippines is tarnished with the reputation of the sex industry when its such a small part of the Philippines and its people. I hope tourism really does start getting itself organised and hopefully see the decline of the sex industry. But unfortunately this doesnt happen easily.. and likely to take years if it ever does. I agree totally on chasing the guys for the money for impregnating the women and running.. I know of a situation thats happened lately and someone is hanging on to a promise her partner made..but i doubt he will be returning.
This is very true in Cebu. Foriegners with lots of money with them really enjoy their vacation in Cebu.
I object some of the messages here.When you say that the girls from provinces are innocent.Are you sure of what you have written?my gosh!mostly dancers in the city are came from that certain places.You can rarely find a woman in the city to get married or settled down,if you are not capable for her.Yeah,it is admissable if you cannot give a good life to city girls your nothing.That means you are enough for the girl from provinces specially if your not well stabilized in your place.Especially those big mouth foreigners never go to bars in the city,just go directly the place where you belong,when you come in phils.,we don’t need you here.But to tell you i am not a dancer nor a bar worker but i am well oriented with bars cuz i have a little business here,that some of my clients are bar girls also.

The point regarding provincial girls are ones still in the provinces not in the industry. Do i agree with the sex trade? simply its too complex for me to assume anything on it. There are mouths to feed, pressure put on people to join it and tourists supplying the cash for the trade. Is it something I am into? personally no. I am happily married. Are you complaining at me about people who live a normal life with a family in the Philippines? That would actually mean you would rather someone worked the sex trade than happily married with a foreigner living a normal life.. thats just odd.. If you find the article offensive just ask the bar girls you know if they would rather be at college and get a good job if they could afford it or stay in the sex industry.. your answer would be in the replies from them.
